Marcus joined the event and exhibition industry in 1999 from the world of publishing. In 2006, he joined FESPA to oversee marketing for FESPA 2007, which broke all attendance records by more than 20%. In April 2008, he launched the WideNetwork, a social community for wide-format digital printing that now has more than 2,200 members in more than 100 countries. In November 2008, he successfully ran FESPA Asia in Bangkok, despite airport closures due to civil unrest. In May 2009, FESPA Digital in Amsterdam broke all previous exhibitor (20%) and visitor (27%) records and achieved 'Highly Commended' for Best International Exhibition at the Event Awards.
In June 2010, he successfully ran FESPA 2010, which challenged our community to 'Catch the New Wave of Innovation.'
