SGS Whale-Watching Cruise

This year you'll have your choice of two networking events on the second afternoon of the Summit: the annual SGS Golf Tournament, or a whale-watching cruise off the coast of San Diego.

We've reserved a 3-1/2 hour, afternoon cruise aboard a Hornblower yacht, where SGS delegates can talk shop with eyes peeled for migrating gray whales. Each year, from December through March, some 28,000 of these creatures pass by the California coast en route to warm waters off Mexico. January is a peak month for sightings, and if the Hornblower captain's log from January, 2008, is any indication, our chances are good. We're likely to see sea lions, blue herons and dolphins as well.

Email kristy.lohre@stmediagroup.com to reserve your spot on the SGS Whale-Watching Cruise. The $50 fee includes round-trip transportation to the San Diego harbor from the Rancho Bernardo Inn. The cruise features narration on marine life by an experienced captain, climate controlled indoor seating, a snack bar and full bar-plus views of harbor seals and San Diego landmarks.
