SGS GOLF TOURNAMENT
One of the most anticipated networking events at the Signage and
Graphics Summit is the SGS Golf Tournament, a four-person team
scramble held on the second afternoon of the conference. About 60
percent of attendees usually participate (if you're in the other 40%,
click here), and this year's tournament should
be no exception, thanks to a particularly stellar location: the
PGA National Resort & Spa
in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
|
Host of the Honda Classic, 19 major PGA Championship events and
the 1983 Ryder Cup, the PGA National Resort is home to five tournament-ready
courses designed by Nicklaus, Palmer, the Fazios and Karl Litten.
Factor in the average January high of 75 degrees in southern Florida,
and the stage is set for a perfect afternoon of golf.

To participate in the 2008 SGS Golf Tournament on Thursday,
January 17, just check the appropriate box on your conference
registration form. The $75 fee
includes 18 holes, a cart and a boxed lunch. Prizes will be awarded
for men's/women's longest drive, men's/women's closest to the pin and
men's/women's longest putt.
Activities for Non-Golfers
If you're looking for alternate activities on Thursday afternoon,
the Palm Beaches offer plenty of options: Organize a group and
charter
a yacht or catamaran for an afternoon of sport fishing or
intra-coastal cruising along the Palm Beach estates. Explore the
beaches and parks of Palm Beach County. Or shop CityPlace,
Downtown at the
Gardens, Worth Avenue
and other unique
shopping districts nearby. Need a car? You'll find an Enterprise Rent-A-Car desk at the PGA National Resort & Spa.
If you'd rather relax and unwind, treat yourself to an afternoon
at the resort's Spa at the
PGA National. Here you can test the "Waters of the World,"
outdoor mineral pools imbued with salts imported from around the
globe, or choose from more than 100 body and skin-care services.
If tennis is your game, consider posting a notice on the
conference message board and arrange an afternoon of doubles at the
resort's tennis facility. Or simply take advantage of your free time
with a workout in the resort's 33,000-square-foot Health
and Racquet Club.
